EXPERIMENT 2 : IN PURSUIT OF NOISE

This experiment introduced us to the exciting world of algorithmic data and how it can drive visual changes using TouchDesigner, a powerful node-based visual coding software. From the moment we began, we were eager to explore how data could transform our creative ideas into dynamic visual experiences.

We started by diving into various operator categories in TouchDesigner, focusing specifically on the Noise TOP node. This became our playground as we learned to manipulate parameters like period, harmonics, and amplitude to create a wide array of visual effects. It was fascinating to see how even the smallest adjustments could drastically change the visuals, revealing endless possibilities for experimentation.

To make it even more personal, we assigned each member’s data a unique color—yellow for Joycey, pink for Geraldine, and blue for Medhavi. This color coding not only helped differentiate our individual styles but also created a vibrant tapestry of visuals that celebrated our collaboration.

Throughout the workshop, we gained not only technical skills but also a deeper appreciation for the artistic potential of procedural data. It encouraged us to think outside the box and embrace bold experimentation. Ultimately, "In Pursuit of Noise" was more than just a technical exercise; it was a shared adventure into the intersection of art and technology. We discovered how structured randomness could lead to beautiful and complex visual outcomes.
